Year 5 of Practice

Goal

In my fifth year of practice, I would like to be a published author and disseminate research focusing on people experiencing homelessness.

Objectives

To complete this goal, I will develop research projects that address the existing gaps in knowledge. These gaps in knowledge can easily be discovered through reading current literature and continued engagement with the homeless population.

I also have to become comfortable with submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications by seeking guidance from former professors, collaborating with investigation partners, and reviewing projects from my peers.

Goal

I aim to achieve a high level of comfort and proficiency by my fifth year of practice. I have always had a passion for travel, and the most enriched learning happens in new environments. Because of this, I aim to begin my career as a travel occupational therapist, allowing me to expand my knowledge and share the insights I have gained thus far.

Objectives

As this is such a large transition, I understand the importance of a stable support system. One of my objectives is to connect with a community with similar interests and values to travel alongside me. This system will allow for mutual protection, debriefing, and sharing of the events that come from such an exciting new journey.

I also plan to research and reach out to companies that offer travel occupational therapy positions. Comparing different companies will ensure that I have a well-accredited, trustworthy, and safe company behind me as I go through this new chapter in my career.
