Year 1 of Practice

Goal​

One year into being an occupational therapist, I aim to host my first Level I occupational therapy doctoral student. This initiative not only continues the spreading of knowledge but also ensures that the student experiences a nurturing, open, comfortable environment perfect for fostering learning. As I plan to work in an emerging area of practice for an occupational therapist, exposure to these fields will ignite a passion and interest in practitioners to come.

​Objectives ​

To complete this goal, I will contact Xavier University promptly to express my interest in hosting a student. 

 

Additionally, before their fieldwork experiences to elf on the requirements and standards, I can provide the student with an enriching explanation that furthers their education.

Goal​

For my first year as a practitioner, I anticipate numerous opportunities for growth and learning. The amount of new information I will be introduced to will be exciting and overwhelming, motivating me to share these insights with practitioners to come. Therefore, my goal in my first year of practice is to guest lecture at least three times at Xavier University.

Objectives

To achieve this goal, I will contact former professors to express my interest and explore the topics they teach. This will not only convey my enthusiasm but also ensure that what I present aligns with their curriculum.

I aim to develop the content for each lecture. This involves preparing engaging PowerPoints, interactive activities, and relevant information. I aim to enhance students' learning and make former professors proud to have me back in the classroom.
